What is it we do?
Tess Team Cares had it’s first donation day in December of 2021. We are now on our 4th donation day and have for the last two years add a local woman’s shelter. We have assisted the homeless and the woman’s shelter with clothing and needed necessities to help them with everyday life. The homeless shelter initiative has helped keep them warm and have offered a little taste of holiday cheer. We are so thankful to everyone who has helped to support this project.

One afternoon two friends were trying to figure out what to do with two replaced sofa bed mattresses. We had the idea to take them to downtown and hit the street in an area where many homeless people live. We stuffed them in the back of my SUV and found a street with an abundance of tents. We got out of the car, opened the back, and asked a couple of people if they would like the mattresses. They said absolutely! YES! While we were getting the mattresses out, they saw blankets and hats in my car and asked if they could have them as well. We started giving out the articles and unfortunately there wasn’t a lot. We immediately felt that we needed to do something to help. We discussed this with multiple other women in our group and they agreed, and we wanted to help out.
